Meet Tara — Seattle, WA

Hey, I’m Tara.

A Pilates instructor, an entrepreneur, and a Gemini.

I train bodies as one connected system, not a collection of parts. Every session works toward the same thing: helping you move with intention instead of habit, so what happens on the mat shows up everywhere else — your lift, your stride, your day.

My Philosophy

The same system, every time.

Pilates is built on six principles — breath, concentration, centering, control, precision, and flow. They work as one system, the same way your body does. You can't isolate control from precision — and even when you're focused on one part of the body, the rest of it is still doing the work to support it.

That's why I don't train a shoulder, or core, or a stance on its own — I train the system underneath it. I cue toward what correct actually feels like, so you learn to find it yourself instead of depending on me to find it for you. There's no single right tempo. Just the one that lets you move with intention instead of habit.

Done right, Pilates doesn't just stay in the studio. It's the thing that makes everything else better — your lift, your stride, your stress level, your dance, whatever "better" means for you specifically. That's the actual goal. Not Pilates for its own sake, but Pilates as the foundation for everything you're actually trying to do.

My Story

I found Pilates by chance, and it has become a big part of my world.

Fully certified in 2021, I have studied both the classical and contemporary styles, and I teach across every format — private, duet, group, and the occasional very large park class.

When I teach, my goal is that you leave a session feeling more capable, more in control, and happier than when you walked in.

I grew up in Utah, and I will defend my 44oz dirty soda as my choice beverage to this day. I'm a textbook Gemini, summer is my favorite season, and my dog Chloe is my entire heart.

Specialties

Most people who work with me don't have a specific condition — they just want to move better. But I also have experience with hypermobility & POTS, perinatal, posture & alignment, and athletic performance. Private training, group sessions, and large events.

  • Hypermobility

Hypermobility isn’t a problem — it’s a range of motion that needs an instructor who actually recognizes it. Most people with hypermobility have been taught in rooms where nobody caught it, which means they’ve been building habits without the stability to back them up. Sessions focus on awareness, strength, and control.

  • Perinatal

Pregnancy and postpartum change everything about how the body moves, stabilizes, and recovers. Sessions focus on pelvic floor awareness and control, strength and stability that adapts to a changing body, and mobility work that supports each stage — before, during, and after.

  • Athletic training

Athletic pilates training isn’t about replacing what athletes already do — it’s about filling in the gaps. Sessions focus on identifying what’s weak, what’s restricted, and what’s being compensated for, then building the stability and mobility to address it. The goal is simple: help you perform better at your sport. Pilates lives in the details most training programs miss.

  • POTS

POTS requires a different pace and a different starting point. Sessions prioritize horizontal and seated work to avoid triggering tachycardia, with slower transitions and regulated breathwork built in. The focus on joint stability also addresses the hypermobility that often comes with it

  • Scoliosis

Scoliosis is individual — no two spines are the same. Sessions are built around understanding your specific pattern and finding the Pilates work that actually serves it. Some movements help, some don’t, and knowing the difference matters
